Archimedes International School was founded in 1992 by the late Mr. A S M Khan, a Sri Lankan sporting legend who recognized an urgent need for an English medium school of international standards in the cool climes of Bandarawela.

Archimedes International School is a private school offering national and international curriculum in English medium from pre-school to secondary. The School is equipped with a 3D multimedia, IT, and science lab. Also offers a library, an indoor sports, music, and dance room. Students are trained in physical education and offered training for sports like table tennis, badminton, chess, netball, athletics, and others. Eastern and Western music, dance, a cub scout program, and extracurricular activities are offered to provide a diverse and inclusive learning environment where students from different backgrounds can come together to learn and grow.
